There is no reason to believe that God spoke to him. Any more than there is any reason to believe that God has spoken to anybody else.
I might like to listen to him. By listening I learn. But I'm sure that somebody who has talked with God is not interested in hearing what I have to say.

My dad is a holy man and as far as I know God has never spoke to him directly in words. However my Daddy does have long conversations with God. And God has ways of communicating his wishes through the heart of his servants without actually speaking. I do not believe God finds it necessary to make a show such as you speak of. A holy man will not make such a claim. OO

If such happened most likely he would be viewed as somewhat schizophrenic by some but would easily be able to convince those who wish to believe in it and him.
He'd have to come up with more however than simply restating the "words of God" in order to prove his legitimacy.
Personally, no I wouldn't believe him unless he could present tangible evidence that what he says is founded on more than just the words in the Bible, which anyone can recite at any time.
What would I say or do? Not a thing...to each his own.

I think this is a very good question, and it is one that I have often pondered on myself. When you think about ancient stories in the Bible such as Moses going to release the Hebrew slaves from bondage, Noah warning the world that God was going to destroy mankind with a flood, and even when Jesus was trying to shed his light, no one believed any of them. By not believing the man who says that all of his words are words of God, one would be taking a great risk with his soul if God actually was speaking to him. On the other hand, if we did decide to believe/follow that person then and that person turned out to be a phony then we would have much regret. In other words, you're taking a 50/50 chance either way. My suggestion would be to pay close attention to this man and observe all of his words and actions very closely. Afterwards, time will determine if he is worth believing or not.

Well, first, if some man was speaking truths then yes I'd believe him. But, then again, determining what's true would be the way the man's statements match up with God's Word.

Well first I would find out what his message is. If all he wants is followers who are going to idolize him, then I would walk away. But if he shows real love for God, is humble and brings forth revelations that take me forward on my spiritual path then I would listen some more.

No I would not believe him. I would lean more toward thinking that he is suffering from schizophrenia and is having auditory hallucinations. Many people with schizophrenia claim to speak to god or other powerful beings.

Jesus said that we would know false prophet by their 'fruits'. That is to say, if the guy is using the " Word of God" to commit evil, then we know he's full of crap.
Best wishes.

bible says to have a group of people listen to it and decide as a group if its true
then the test of time always does the trick too..
lots of people that "hear from God"
become false prophets when the test of time is applied
