Permit me to quote the Master.
When Pilate slew some Galilaeans while they were making religious sacrifices, Jesus said,
"Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans because they suffered such things?
I tell you Nay, but except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.
Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and slew them. Think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem ?
I tell you Nay, but except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish."
He should know.
Were these prostitutes greater sinners than you ?
Except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish.

What happened in Ipswich is a tragedy. And I agree that there is a very good chance that a religious zealot bent on cleaning the streets is most likely behind this heinous act. So to answer your question...
I believe prostitution should be legalized. If it were, it could be regulated like any legitimate business. It would create a far healthier environment, and the spread of STDs would dramatically drop nation wide. It would also be of great benefit for those in the sex trade by affording them access to the system. They would live longer, healthier, and hopefully have a far better life.

I'm a Christian but my politics lean toward libertarianism as I believe that by criminalizing vices that government only creates black markets and loose all control. For example if prostitution was legal then it would only allow adult women. Pimps couldn't beat and control them. We could lock people up that are really threats as we would have more room in prison. We could require frequent pelvics for these women and cut down on std's. Even the bible says it will happen why criminalize it and make greedy gangsters rich off the backs of sometimes in their teens women with problems. I'll bet in Nevada there are fewer minors engaged in prostitution than other places where it is illegal. We need God for our morals but He can't be legislated it is every one's God-given right to choose and it is wrong for legislation to force it on other people. As far as Government is concerned it is OK to have sex with any adult you want but wrong to charge. I just don't see much difference. What I mean is Government is not capable of legislating moralities as it is comprised of people who some of them aren't moral. We certainly don't want the Taliban here.

Legally, prostitution is a State affair. It's been legalized in Nevada in the form of brothels. Open street prostitution is still outlawed there, but if you have a prostitute's license., you may apply to work at a Cat house.
Best wishes.

In that the possibility that the government deems it a crime, and immoral it is easier for us to not care about the deaths, or in that it is easier for men to target these women?
In either case, ALL of these women were someones daughter, sister, mother, or friend, and no matter what there profession, it is not legal, moral, or justifiable that they should have died because of it. Religious or not.

You are right I think, brothels should be legilised, at least then the market for these poor women who do it out of desperation will have another option to get their jollies, and hopefully not use them, removing them from the streets and out of danger,
Legal brothels would obviously require strict regulation, and the girls would be safe from physical abuse, or in this extreme case, murder.
It does seem silly that to sell yourself for sex is not illegal, but brothels are!
These girls are forced to work in isolation, or illegally. I certainly think if it was subject to law and strict goverment control it would be alot safer, for eevryone, AND they would pay tax on their earnings too!

Prostitution is legal where i live and this has done very little if anything towards curbing violence and crime aimed towards trapping women in the industry and making their working conditions hell. If anything, it has made prostitution a viable option to the many impoverished women in our country even though the working conditions have not changed much.

As long as people in the sex industry are criminalized, they'll be marginalized as well.
