Christ mass is would be the celebration of the Eucharist.
But since christianity was developed more around the pagan era, when christianity wasnt popular, the pagans were worshiping the birth of the Sun, and christians fell into the celebrations of the times, and when christianity was accepted, they called it christ's mass.
So at christmas I celebrate jesus birth, live, last supper, crucifiction/death and resurrection.
Happy Christmas

At one time, every saint's feast day was a "-mas", because a mass was how you commemorated it. There was Martinmas, Michaelmas, etc. That's just how one referred to the date. Christmas hung on longer because calling it "St. Jesus' Day" sounded ridiculous.
