I personally like dark colors on walls but too dark might not be good in an apartment b/c dark colors make rooms appear smaller. If you like dark colors, I would pick a dark color and a light color that compliment each other and do a wall with the dark and the rest in the light. Or...be creative. If you don't like it you can always chang it!

It really depends on the colors you like, the furnishings you have, etc. But, here are a few tips:
Rooms facing south: use cool colors to freshen up and keep the room cool.
Rooms facing north: use warm colors to keep the room comfy and warm.
You can use a monchrome theme all around the place. This makes it so that rooms flow, from one to another.
What is really all the rage now is having paler walls (such as a sandy cream) and using dark colors (such as charcoal) on moldings, trim and doors. I just did a house with this and it's amazing... and the people loved it... you don't get all the finger marks on the doors and door trims. It looks very rich and classy.
Enjoy... and remember, no matter what, paint is the easiest way to change a room... and also the cheapest... so if you don't like what you do, it's easy to fix.

colors...want them to compliment.
blue/green, red/orange, pink/red, do you want a warm or cool feeling? vases, candles, iron, black or brown decorations, ie. candle holder, picture frame, etc. Go to Pier 1 Imports, or a store of such and just get an idea. Find some colors, decorations, and run with it. I don't know if you want to paint the walls or anything permanent due to the fact you will only be there for a short while? Just look around in the stores, it will come to you. Good luck!

it is kind of hard being i don't what your favorite colors are,but i will give it a try...light colors are nice because They lighten up The rooms. if you take a light color say like pale green on 3 walls and and a darker shade of the same color and put it on the 4th wall you will get a little more drama, but not to much.. i like to do rooms up with a 4 color palette...2 Lt 1 drama and the last either gold ,silver or black or grey tones...as for the theme...what do you collect,or what do u like....antiques,mondern,contempo..it is up to u and then take those colors and go with them......
