He has been kinda sick for like a week now. some days he is spunky and then other days he's not at all. then this morning i found him favoring his back right leg. should i just give him an asprin and let the sprain heal? it's not broken i know that for sure. but there's no point in taking him to the vet if it's just a sprain

let him lay around a couple of days and take care of him make sure he eats and drinks, and call your vet to see if you could buy some pain pills from them without a visit.or go to a petsmart they might havee some pain pills

I agree there's no point in taking him to the vet if it's just a sprain. Vets are very expensive. However, since this has been on and off for a couple of days, it may be something more than a sprain. It sounds more like arthritis. Or even if there is something wrong with his back, like a herniated disc, that could cause the cat to favor a leg. And since you don't know the original cause of "injuyry", it is more likely that it isn't a sprain. Either way, at this point I would take him to the vet. Good Luck!

NEVER give animals aspirin. It is bad for their stomachs. Take your cat to the vet. If he just had a limp, I'd say watch it a few days to see if it gets better, but if he's been sick, there could be other things going on.

A sprain is very serious. Aspirin does nothing but relieve pain for a short period of time. Pain is back and the sprain is just getting worse if he keeps walking.

I think you should take your cat to the vet just in case- my cat came home with a limp, we assumed it would go away, but it got infected and swelled up to 3 times its normal size. We had to take her to the Emergency vets on christmas... that's not a cheap bill.
