Yes, I've seen it many times. It has to have a lot of stuff in it so that it dries very hard. Hair glue is the best and there are many manufactureres who make it from cheap to expensive. Hair glue can be substituted with Elmer's glue or Knox Gelatin. Most punks use wood glue on their hair to be honest.

I am from ohio and this has been done. You need time, patience and more that just hair spray. You need hairspray, mousse, and a nice setting gel. Go to your local beauty salon and get a fast drying styling gel. Wash your hair. Part into sections. Do the back first, then work towards the front with your head hanging down. Work the mousse through your hair then apply the gel and comb your hair into the shape mohawk you desire. Keep your head down while blow drying on a low setting. Do not get the hair dryer to close to your hair. After it feels stiff enough then use hairspray to finish the set. The whole point of the mousse, gel and hairspray is to make your hair really stiff and it will hold. Make sure you use it over the entire head not just where the mohawk is. It's fun to use colors as well. Do not put your head up until mohawk is completely dry.

I saw this guy once.. with super long hair that made it into a mohawk. I spent the remainder of the evening wondering what kind of product he used to make his hair that stiff and stay straight up all night. It had to have been a good two feet off his head.

So my answer would be yes as long as they used the right hairspray/mouse/gel/glue or whatever.

I think that there is a limit to how tall a mohawk can be before the spray doesn't hold it up, but if you used strong gell it would probably work

Just with hair spray, probably not. But, if you find a hair spray that would do that, let us know.
