Your question is too vague, not sure what you're getting at.
Smoking is very bad for your health, but surely you've heard that. Go to a hospital and find a patient with lung cancer or emphysema, and then try to tell yourself cigarettes "aren't that bad."
Since you posted in the "Singles & Dating" section, perhaps you mean, will smoking make you undesirable to other singles. Quite possibly. Depends where you live and what type of person you want to attract. Many people find smoking an obnoxious habit, so it's probably a safer bet to be a non-smoker who doesn't mind being around other people who DO smoke - that way you won't alienate anyone.
Keep in mind that a bad habit doesn't make you a bad person - but subjecting other people to the consequences of that bad habit, without concern for their health or feelings, IS a bad character trait, and something you should be careful of.

We're all stupid about something, but most of us don't show it on our faces five minutes of every thirty.
Cigarettes are a defective product. They are the #1 cause of home fires that result in fatalities. They are associated with cancer, stained teeth, emphysema.
Cigarettes cost money. Think of all the money that went up in smoke that could have been better spent on clothes or an iPod.
Not all smokers are irresponsible litterbugs, but too many are. Check the first stop sign after any freeway offramp. Again, this is part of the "defective product" -- an intelligent design of the product would include proper disposal with every pack.

"Nothing is good or bad lest thinking make it so."
Smoking is harmful to your health, but it's your life and you get to choose what you do with your body.
Why this is in the Singles and dating section, I know not. Hmmn. Smoking may limit who will date you. There are people that won't date a person that smokes, and they are free to make that choice.

Some smoke is not bad...fireplaces, campfire, etc. But the smoke from cigarettes has been proven to be harmful to both the sucker of the ciggie and the folks around them. Plus it makes you smell bad.
