That is a very interesting point of view. What you should do to test the validity of your theory is to come up with a definition of tolerance. Show what it looks like when there is tolerance and lack of tolerance. Then go around and look RANDOMLY at opinions stated in public by various people and groups and write down the topics, and see if you find anything that resembles your idea of tolerance or lack of tolerance. Do you start to see a trend? You will find that there is lack of tolerance towards MANY things, certainly NOT just christianity.
Here is something else you should consider: if someone has a particular idea in mind, especially an idea that they have because of emotional, rather than logical, motivation, they will block out facts and evidence that go against their view, and concentrate on facts or evidence that support their view. Very silly. You should see that there are even atheists and agnostics who are tolerant to religion.

Nik, these people are vicious to Christians, I apologize. Tolerance means all people, not just them. They will say anything to you. I am afraid to even ask a question. Some Christians and others have tried to ask people to be nice but they spit in our faces like we are dogs. Some of it is because of the preaching and writing pages of scripture and sending them in from what is called the "fundies" or fundamentalist. And to be fair, they can be just as horrible as the worst of the worst here. Its not just the Christians either, they do it to the Muslims too and sometimes to the Jewish people or they pick a denomination like the Catholics. Angelee

study the Bible, the entire Bible, it truly is a ask your self complete e book ever given to mankind. you'll comprehend and there'll be no extra questioning. each and each and every of the answer to the worldly problem is there, if in problem-free words you study it on an open concepts and somewhat seek for for the reality. I assure you which ones think about peace. it truly is not a contradiction . It obviously says "it truly is the reality". Will you're taking it in faith first before you educate that the note of God is contradicting? in spite of everything you'll believe first. God received't lie, He can't, no longer now or the day earlier to this or day after today. His words received't bypass away.

That is not correct, but since you asked about tolerance;
Who thinks tolerance is noble?
It is not.
We tolerate what we believe to be acceptable.
One who tolerates everything is an accomplice to murder.

They don't see it, but when practically 8 out of every ten questions posted is against Christianity (I've counted and a friend of mine, non-Christian, has counted) I think we have a right to ask this. And as for us not being tolarent, anytime we post anything that so much as squeaks of Jesus or God, you jump down our throats. I see more questions in day praising the hopeful decline of Christianity (and all religions) then I do any question praising a religion.

Because christianity has been forced upon us, society as a whole, for centurys. We have had enough of it! besides, christians have no tolerance for anything except their way, we learnt our intolerance from the christian masses. maybe if they were less judgemental, less hypocritical and more tolerant for alternative ways of life we could stomach them better!

Oh please!!!
Most Christians (NOT ALL) have a problem (or INTOLERANCE) towards all things not Christian. So, it would make sense that everyone is okay with everything but Christianity, since they are the ones not "tolerating" everyone else.
I have respect for all people and things that respect ME and MY choices in life. I am completely tolerant of Christianity...just not the "Christians" involved that hate everything that isn't Christian-like.

There isn't. People are just as judgemental about other religions, races, genders, and lifestyles as some peopel are of Christianity. It's not a situation to be a martyr just becuiase you are a Christian. And don't play the victim for the same reason. I am a Christian but I don't think people are discriminatory about that. They accept it just like I accpet people with different beliefs than mine.

i do see where you get this question from ~ i am noticing that there is a big backlash against Christianity on these forums. a lot of the above answers prove this ~ there is a lot of anger for all things Christian.
grouping all the past actions and violence from Christians with all the people who try to live as Jesus taught, is a lot like grouping people by their skin color and saying "they all are in gangs and shooting people ~ they are all horrible!".
in other words, why is it so ok to hate religion? it's pretty much not ok to hate period, right?
why can't we all just get along? :D
