this is something my mom gave me whenever I had a cold.

ginger tea:

11/2 cups of water
couple of slices of ginger
1-2 tbsp honey
1/2 of a lemon squeezed
couple of mint leaves

Bring it all to a boil and strain out all of the contents, and drink it while it is hot.
that should get you nose going, so make sure you spit all that gunk out. that's the key to getting better(getting all that nasty spit out of your system)

hope it helps.

Blast it with vitamin C. Whenever I feel a cold coming on I pop like 5 or 6 of the 833% daily allowance pills throughout the day for a day or two and that usually weakens the cold. I mean you are still going to have a cold, but it will probably be shorter, and not as bad.

At the first hint of a cold or flu I make a chicken curry. I use all the indian spices especially the bright orange and yellow ones, plus garlic, chilli, ginger, onions etc. I cook it slowly for hours and then eat it twice a day until the cold has gone. I swear by this and never (touch wood) get a full blown cold. I do not know why this might work but it does for me.

Try not to sneeze all over our keyboards, you.

There is no way to make it go away instantly, but there are dozens of cheap pills in the shops that will make your cold last for five rather than six days. That's the most you can do unless you find a way to build up a stronger immune system.

But a more fun & oldfashioned cure-all is lemon juice, brandy and honey in roughly equal portions. Nice hmmmmm.....

1/ Suffer in silence. 2/Treat yourself to a nice garlic sandwich-2 segments crushed and spread on the bread with sliced tomato. Yum I'm not joking!
3/Lots of warm fluids
4/ A little bit of exercise to keep the blood circulating.
A good time to give up smoking if you smoke.
I hope you feel better for Christmas. Best wishes.

When I have a cold it seems like nothing makes me feel better. My husband likes nyquil but it doesnt make me feel better and it makes me jittery. I swear by alka seltzer for colds. It makes me feel SO much better. It't the only thing I have ever found that makes a difference. I hate the way it tastes but it's worth it. Now my husband uses it over nyquil too.

Sudafed Spray is excellent for getting you unblocked - it lasts for 10 hours too which is great.
You should also take vitamins if you get lots of colds - my doctor told me to get Sanatogen Gold - since I have been taking them regularly I have had far less colds. Give it a go!

Blasted thing to happen just before Christmas! I usually simply drink hot tea and of all things potato soup with garlic.
