My boyfriend and I'll be in NYC from 12-26 to 1-1. We'll be staying at my girlfriend's apartment in Brooklyn, doing a lot of sightseeing (The Met, MOMA, Ellis Island, Central Park etc.) a Broadway show, dinners at various ethnic restaurants, and on New Year's Eve going to an early sitting prix fixe dinner at Artisianal, an avante-garde musical performance, and then a karaoke bar after midnight.

The weather here in NY has been rather mild the past few days. I would still pack some clothes that will keep you warm. The ferry ride to get to Ellis Island can be pretty chilly! You can never go wrong with a black dress. Be sure to bring comfortable shoes since it looks like you'll be doing a lot of walking/sightseeing. Not sure where you're from but Manhattan is insane during the holidays with crowds and traffic.

Enjoy New York. I bet you'll have a blast!

right now its actually in the 50s here, but it is usually very cold here by new years eve. im talking hats, gloves, earmuffs and your uggs.
everything is pretty casual, so you dont have to dress up for any of those events. i recommend Mamma Mia or Wicked.

bring your most comfortable pair of walking shoes.

The weather can be pretty changeable that week. Bring clothes for very cold weather, milder weather, and rainwear. And don't forget comfortable, waterproof shoes!
