I have a new girlfriend who is 200 pounds and they tell me i could do better! Are they right? Iam 5'5 160lbs and she is 4'11 200lbs. what do you think?

Tell them to shut up. We do not choose who we fall in love and it is very unfair that they are treating her like this because of the way she looks. Have they even gotten to know her. I've been on both sides of the scale and people treat you differently when you are heavy it is sad. Be there for her and don't tell her what they say about her.

Ugh, love is blind. If she's a nice person and you like her whats wrong with that? Weight has nothing to do with who you end up with. Sure you could do better, but maybe people tell her she's too good for you because you dont have a good enough job or something just as stupid as being large.

well since she is your girlfriend you obviously saw something besides her weight. I think people get way to caught up in how much someone looks instead of their personality, because looks can be changed. People can lose weight or get surgery if they prefer. Your family should be more worried about whether you're happy or not with her instead of how she looks. You may be able to find someone whose weight fits you better, but can you find someone whose personality fits you too. I'd say to go with your heart and now mind what your family says.

The answer to your question is "you can always do better and you can always do worse." It would seem to me that you would be the best judge of what is good for you, not your family. But if you want your family to continue to run your life by all means listen to them and dump this girl. Let her find someone who is better able to make their own decisions.

That doesn't say anything about who she is, just because she is big doesn't mean that she's not a good person, or that she doesn't make you happy and is good to you. If you like this girl then her weight shouldn't be a determining factor, I think you should go with your heart not your eyes! Also this is YOUR girl, if you want to be with her then you should defend her not feel ashamed of her.

What do you think? Something had to attract you to her,don't let family live your life! If you like that big-boned woman of yours,go for the goal !! Who knows, maybe you can motivate her to loose a few pounds.You know love has been known to do that to people.

Do you ever think her parents might be telling her the same thing? ;o) Look something obviously attracted you to her so if you enjoy each others company, heck with the parents. I mean even parents make mistakes sometimes. ;o) shh I didn't say that ok. ;o)

What is YOUR idea of "better"? Do you like this girl? Is she honest and fun to be with? Define BETTER, and your familys input won't consern you. Sounds like THEY matter to you more than you matter to you. By the way I'm not over-weight, and I'm not short-sighted.

Whatever makes you happy. If they cant see why it is you are with her, then too bad for them. Go with your heart, not by what others say, especially family, they tend to be very judgemental.
