Do you think that this is appropriate?

Tonight my daughters pre-school is having their Christmas party for the kids and parents. Would this be a good time to try and hit on some of the young hot single moms that have their kids go there too?

I am a 26 year old single dad, so I would not be cheating if you were thinking that. But I have seen some of the moms that drop their kids off, and some of them are really cute!

What do you all think?

Ok, by "hit on them" I do not mean walking up and saying "If I could change the alphabet I would put U and I together"!

I do mean startigng up a conversation and seeing if they would like to get coffee or something. This question was really more of would this be a good time and place type thing.

And I will NOT be ignoring my daughter for this, she is my little 3 foot nothing world! She will always be the #1 girl in my life, but after being a single dad for about a year now I feel that at least a date wouldn't hurt.

Personally, I don't think you could have a better opportunity to do it! As long as you do like you said and keep it casual, you should be aok! I think it's a great chance to do it b/c you'll be there with your daughter, and those moms will have their kids there too, so it's known that both of you are parents and gives you so much common ground already! I definitely do not think it would be inappropriate to conversate with another single person. It would be good if you approached a single woman who has a child the same age as yours. Instead of asking her out for coffee. You should ask her out on a play date for the kids. That way it will be more casual and you won't have to get a babysitter. I think its very cute how you say that your daughter will always be the number one girl in your life. I also commend you for stepping up and raising your child whatever the situation is with her mother.

You deserve to have a life too. If you have a chance to be happy with a woman then go for it. Daddy needs a life too and your daughter can't give you the loving a woman can.

It's called socializing. It is completely appropriate. You've already expressed awareness that your attention should be with your daughter first. Why don't you plan a holiday party for the kids and their moms? Arrange play dates or outings with the kids and moms. Put yourself in situations where you can demonstrate that you can be great with their kids too. The possibilities are endless. I think you are set to go. Aww...aren't you a sweetheart. But how are you going to know whether the moms are single, unless they actually have a husband/boyfriend at the party with them? You can't very well ask outright if they're single. They'd probably be offended. I'd say don't flirt. Definitely have conversations, but try not to flirt. I'm a single mom myself, and I'm not sure how I'd react if you tried to hit on me at a daycare party. =)

This is actually kinda funny to me, though. I see some guys dropping off their kids at the daycare my daughter goes to, and I find myself wondering if they're single. Do you live in Everett, WA, by any chance? LOL

As long as you are not too obvious about it. Go for it ! Be discreet, do it in an elegant way .I f you've seen someone you like its a good opportunity to get to meet them, and you can start by there.
Just try to find out first who the single moms are so that you don't find yourself in trouble with a jealous husband.
