It is always more complicated than just slow down. It was all simple speeding. No DUI or Drugs, or Even Any Wrecks. Now I can't drive. How could one possibly pay? Should the Law be Just Pay the Fines and Keep your License? Otherwise, what then? States get the money regardless if paid or not VIA Collections and State Reimbursements I think? Now What?

I live 23 miles Deep in the Forest. No Public Transportation on my 7 mile Dirt Road. Love the Answers! Very Bashing, as Expected. Seems as though no one has a clue how to be kind to one another. Wish we were in a New Civil War!! Country vs. City!

Was your license suspended for not making child support payments? (they do that here in Florida). And if your license was suspended for not paying tickets then your going to have to pay them. And if your license was suspended because of too many points (speeding tickets are moving violations and put points on your system) then you are about the learn one of the hardest lessons ever. You need to request driving school. You should have sent those tickets to the "traffic clinic" or other law firm which dedicates themselves to traffic infractions (in FL they charge $70 a ticket to defend - most of the time you don't pay the ticket and when you do you dont get the points - its worth it). The problem is that now if you don't pay child support you are going to be in a real world of hurt b/c penalties for that affect your job and taxes (by way of garnishment) and just puts the whole system in a bad mood when it comes to you. Go down to the "traffic infractions" clerk of courts in your jurisdiction. Wait the huge line (you know I just came back from there myself :-) and see if you can't go to traffic school to "remove" the points off of your license for your most recent tickets. They usually allow you if you ask. Be nice and curteous and trust me when I tell you, don't F with the Man. The Man's system will grind you up.

I don't know what state you live in but I have never heard of taking your licenses away because of a speeding ticket. You must really have a terrible driving record or they were pulled for non child support. As for paying your child support and going to work walk or get there any way you can. Sounds like you need to grow up and be responsible.

you are saying you can't pay child support cause you got a speeding ticket?

get a job within walking distance or take a bus. Your child needs food and stuff you know.

No, it's NOT more complicated than just slowing down. It's actually quite easy. And use cruise control. That's what I started doing after getting pulled over by CHP. No ticket - apparently he worked in contact with my hubby's old unit way back at our old duty station.

No, but he can bite my left @ss cheek if he wants. I HATE my ex even though he makes an attempt at child support. Any man that hurts a child or hits a woman is NOT a man in my book and isn't entitled to ANY rights even if he pays some form of money. Sandy :O(

not understanding

how does not being able to drive (because you have no license), affect you paying child support? Since when were the two mutually exclusive?

Since reading yoru other thread, maybe its a good thing you dont have your license. YOU dont understand responsibility.

You can take public transportation, WALK , the cab, run, bicycle. YOU have only yourself to blame for the predicament you put yourself in.

Well, they certainly don't just yank your license for a "simple speeding" ticket. You've either got a driving record following you around, have failed to pay a ticket....or something to that extent.

The law doesn't care how you pay your child support or how you get to work...you just do it be it by bus, train, plane, your feet, etc.

If you dig your own hole, you lay in it. End of story.

You need a special permission driver's license. This is one which only allows you to drive to certain location such as a job or school. In Texas they are called SR22 license and your lawyer can help you get one. I don't know what they are called in other states or countries.

Suck it up and get a good radar detector. I just lost my license for Reckless driving and I'm taking the bus to make it happen for a month. I have a show car I can't even drive now and it's killing me. So I kinda actually have a little sympathy, just get prepared for the future and do what you gotta do..

you can fight that (appeal it).

i have no idea what your states laws are, but contact your local legal aid office and ask what your options are. legal aid is in every state and most counties. they are on a sliding scale, so free to most people.

look in the phone book for it, or call your county court clerk for the number.
