It seems that dating gets harder as you get older. I guess it's because we are more set in our ways. I am in the same situation as you on what to get him. I opted for a Sherpa throw which we both can cuddle underneath. I also got him a hardcover book of one of his favorite artists.

Girl buy him a picture frame that says I love you on the top with a picture of you in it if not that then buy him a watch or if he likes going to the mall so much and going out then buy him a out fit

So you are older? Depends on what he likes. If he likes sports, go with tickets. If he likes music, go to a concert. If you have some cash, go with something electronic. Those all say that you are interested enough to put some thought into it, but they are not mushy gifts.

figure out one of his favorite pasttimes, and then buy him something simple. not over extravagant - for example a gift card for a "sports store", a Xmas ornament with his team, maybe something simple with an engraving of his initials....a money clip, belt buckle, paperweight but personalized....

something small....maybe like a bunch of smaller type things. no clothes though. just things that kind of represent both sides of the relationship. also things he is mainly into. example:if he likes beer....by him something with the beer logo on it or just a case of beer.

A watch would be nice, that way he will always think of you when he checks the time.
