If you are throwing up, you should make yourself NPO which simply means you should not eat or drink anything for around the next 12 hours. Then start out slowly by taking some sips of water or something you like to drink. If you can hold it down for a couple of hours, you may start to drink and eat some clear liquids such as some chicken broth and some weak tea.
Never, never, never, never eat or drink when you are actively throwing up. It makes matters worse and then becomes a vicious cycle. You eat.....you vomit.... you drink..... you vomit and on and on.
If you are not able to hold down liquids, after you have tried the above, then go to the doctor.

Everybody say to sip sprite and eat saltine crackers, but last time I had the stomach flu I couldn't keep ANYTHING down.
I just kind of had to let it pass...
When u start to get an appetite back start slow with bland foods.

Slow sips of cool, but not cold ginger ale. If tolerated than slightly toasted bread, with a little butter. Wait a few days before consuming anything heavy to allow your digestive tract to get back to where it can handle normal meals.
