I need to tell someone that they fell out of an ugly tree, and hit every branch on the way down, but I don't want to hurt their feelings.

Nobody is really helping me. This is my pre-teen daughter I am talking about, and she needs to know that she will spend most of her life alone.

Maybe you shouldnt tell them in that way, Say "I THINK YOUR TOTALLY SEXYHOT!!!"
Then they will automatically know that your lieing and mocking them, its a nicer way of being mean...lol

I try to keep my answers serious, but I just can't resist this one...
You can say nearly anything about a person as long as you add the phase "bless their poor heart"
For example:
"That girl is dumber than a box of rocks, bless her poor heart"
"That guy fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, bless his poor heart."

There are no stupid questions... Only stupid people.
Start out with, there is nothing wrong with being ugly.... Point out that ugly people have contributed a lot to society....
Mention that you don't to be perfect to fit in. Use your stupidity and cruelty for an example, tell em people still manage to like you.
Then just say it.

If your intention is to be just mean then you will not stop at ugly!
On the other hand, if you would look deeper into the heart of this person, you might be surprised to find they have other more impressive attributes that over come the lesser looks.
You might surprise yourself that you no longer see the apparent

There is not a correct way to tell a person they are ugly, because there is no such thing as an ugly person, there are just those not to your liking.

A nice way to tell a person that they are ugly is to not tell them at all. How would you feel if someone said that to you.

And you need to...why?
I don't see any need to tell someone they're ugly, even if you find them so. If they ask "does this make me look ugly/fat/whatever" and it does, tell them that it isn't very flattering.

there is no nice way so just dont do it. and there is probably somebody in the world who doesnt think that person is ugly so o well.
