Many times, I will transfer smaller photos onto one big 8x10 image. The one thing, I have yet to figure out is.... sometimes I like to put a thin black or colored line around each photo. I cannot figure out how to do this. How do you create the line or square; thickness and pick a color?

OK, try this: Make sure the photo or image you want the line around is on it's own layer. Go up to SELECT, LOAD SELECTION. It'll give you a box asking what you want selected. Just hit ENTER without changing anything. The image will now have a selection line around it. Staying in the SELECT menu, go to MODIFY; EXPAND, and type in the number of units out you need, and hit ENTER. You will see the dancing lines of the selection edge expand outward around the image. Then just go up to EDIT; STROKE, and enter your parameters. You'll end up putting the stroke around the lines, outward from the picture.

Make a box selection of the photo(with the part which isnt selected being the boarder) then go "select" then "invert" then fill it in with a color. If its not the right size try again or adjust the size with Ctr T.

if each of your images are on a seperate layer, just click
Ctrl + the layer with yoru mouse (the layer that the image resides on)
It should make a selection around your image.
Create a new layer, your selections should still be selected
And then Edit > Stroke
choose the thickness ( 1 px if you want a thin one)
Position of the stroke (center, outside, inside)
choose the color
then hit ok
