anti-inflamatory pills like naproxen, ibuprophen, aspirin. heat and rest with the joint elavated. avoid alcohol and foods with high purine levels. drink lots of water to help flush your system.

I'm not a doctor, but a very old substance, avaiable as a prescription only, called "colcichine" in Canada made miracles for me.

I don't have gout but psoriasic arthritis. When I go to drugstore to buy my colcichine, the pharmacist always think I have gout !!! She/he says too that it's the treament oh choice, even if it's an old one.

Some side effects: gastro intestinal (pain, diarrhea etc)

Go back to the doctors and ask for a stronger prescription.

go to the er or doc & get them to give you a shot of solumedral.
