Hair grows most quickly if you take care of it. This includes getting it trimmed about every 6-8 weeks (which gets rid of split ends so your hair can grow more quickly). Also, be careful about curling irons and hair dryers, which can damage your hair and make it more prone to breaking. If you want your hair long for an event before then, you can wear clip-in extensions.

If you don't want the correct answer, why ask the question? Because the answer is, it takes time and every ones hair grows at different rates. My hair grows about an inch a month, but my sisters only grows about half that much. Maybe try prenatal vitamins. I know my hair seemed to grow faster when I was pregnant, but I don't know if it's the vitamins or the hormones that did it. The only quick way to get long hair fast is extensions or wigs. - Sorry
Trimming has nothing to do with how fast your hair grows. It will just make it look better as it grows and keep breakage to a minimum. I have healthy hair and I only get it trimmed 1 or 2 times a year. If that.
I'm also a mom of 2 small kids, I wear my hair in a pony tail pretty much every day. It has no effect on how fast it grows either. But you can have a lot of breakage if you use the wrong hair ties. Use the ones that are softer and don't have any metal holding then together. Scrunchies are good, never use a regular rubber band.

Split ends have nothing to do with how your hair grows (your roots grow, not the ends). Eat healthy (Shampoos all basically have the same stuff in it, so that does not matter for growing your hair out). Try taking pre-natal vitamins (you can get them at the grocery store or walmart) or just folic-acid vitamins. It won't make it grow inches overnight but it will help a little. If you need long hair for something special then just go to a hair salon (a good one) and get extensions put in.

On average, hair grows 1/2 a month. Thats 6 inches a year. To make sure your hair grows at the good and healthy rate... eliminate stress, have a good diet, dont abuse your hair with a lot of pulling, heat, chemicals, and color. I hear getting a trim on a full moon is suppose to help the hair grow faster. I've never tried it. Get healthy trims when you see bad and split ends. Use good shampoo, thats not cheap and damaging to the hair... like shampoo with alcohol in it and wax. Make sure your shampoo is good for your hair... like if you have normal and not dry hair, use shampoo for normal hair. If your hair is dry, use conditioner on your ends and rinse it with colder water then you were washing it with. I chopped my hair to my shoulders when I was in 10th grade... now its to the middle of my back and I graduated in June of 2006 from High School. I did color my hair but only to get rid of the bleach that was coming through, and I did get trims. Wash your hair like every other day because washing it everyday can cause the scalp and skin to dry out and there are pills like the health section that is good for growing healthy hair and nails.

I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.
ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that
http://www.procapslabs.com/pcl/pages/pro...
This is in capsule form and easy to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.
I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.
The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.
My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.
The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth

I tried kelp extract tablets when i was growing my hair, they make everything speed up, like your metabolism and the skins ability to heal quicker, its something to do with the iodine in them, i think they helped, they were cheap too, got them from holland and barrats, along with really massaging your scalp to get the blood flowing, it took me a year to grow out a short choppy do to past my shoulders, i didnt really trim it much just the bits that where growing where they shouldnt, i am a hairdresser so i do know that it all takes time, but everyone is impatient! good luck.

i'm only a white female. yet listen me out. My daughter has fantastic hair like mine yet curls like her daddy. She's biracial. Her hair would not strengthen for some thing. ultimately, i'd condition the crap out of it with black hair care products and get regularly taking place trims ( each 6 weeks) to get the useless off and circumvent breakage. Now her hair is healthful and turning out to be. this is nonetheless no longer quick turning out to be yet quite different. reliable success.

well - i`m afraid there`s no quick way but hair does grow quicker in the summer months (i heard) so maybe go live in the sunniest country for 6 months. you know - i used to think that pulling my hair would make it grow quicker! perhaps try not to think about it atall and it may grow quicker- dunno though! i dont know if there is any type of food you can eat that helps your hair gow - if there is then I would eat loads of it. my hair grows - oh-so-slow too!

Sarah G has it right, I used kelp extract once too. It's pretty good stuff, although I discovered I look better with short hair and cut it all off again afterwards!!! I was a hairdresser too.
