Is it possible that she is lacking something in her diet that makes her want to eat this tasty treat? Any advice on vitamin deficiency in dogs would be most helpful....Also she loves to eat sticks and wood.

Charcoal is actually used to treat gastrointestinal disorders and flatulence in dogs. It's perfectly normal for dogs to enjoy eating sticks, wood, and small amounts of charcoal. I wouldn't let her eat too much, though, and beware that she doesn't get a big splinter wedged across the roof of her mouth -- you'll know if it happens because she'll start tossing and pawing at her mouth. That's really painful for dogs and needs to be removed ASAP.

In general though, it's harmless and perfectly normal. But if she eats lots of charcoal, and grass, she might have an intestinal problem and should see a vet to be safe.

DON'T LET HER EAT THAT. It could kill her. Try giving her a multi vitamin from the pet store.

Probably it will.. Don't let her near things like that, and consider a better quality dogfood.
