Henry the 8th wanted to divorce his wife, Catherine of Aragon of Spain. But the Catholic Church did not permit divorce, so Henry decided to break from Rome and form his own church, the Church of England, or the Anglican Church.
He forced his subjects to convert to the Church of England and later on his daughter, Elizabeth I, the Virgin Queen, reinforced his decree of supporting Protestantism over Catholicism after England almost went Catholic again under Elizabeth's sister, "Bloody Mary" an almost fanatical Catholic.

The reformation was a religious movement started by people such as Martin Luther who broke away from the authority of the mideval Catholic Church.

The big English reformation was when Henry the 8th created the Church of England and deemed the monarch as the head of it, that and the printing of the King James Bible in common enlish and mass print, so many homes could own and read it.

hope that helped.

Reformation---To reform
IN order to reform SOME ONE HAS TO CHANGE THE ORIGINAL

Christ built His Church, Christ died for His Church, God gave us his Holy Inspired Word so we would have the plan of Salvation.

The New Testament Church only goes by GOD'S Word
We do not add to or take away from ( Warning to those who do and did Revelation 22)

Central Printers & Publishers has a grreat pamphlet out to show how the division of the Church started.
Contact me for more details if interested.

As soon as people moved away from the N.T. Church of Christ...denominations were started.

There is only ONE---Ephesians 4:4,5,6
