They are trying to grow up too fast. No child needs to be dating. Their main concern should be school.

I am under 18, and I want a bf to have someone to share everything with. Others want to look cool, many are just trying to get laid. If you like someone of the opposite sex (or these days the same), being their bf or gf gives you an opportunity to get to know the person better. The deal with teenagers is they don't often get into serious relationships, so they tend not to last long. If it doesn't work out, they move on and find someone else. It's not anything of a problem until you run into someone who is controlling or too fast.

They learn this from their parents. With a more than 50% divorce rate these days, their parents put a lot of time, energy and attention into their own love lives: finding dates, having sex, living together, getting remarried, having his-hers-ours children, breaking up, dating again and again and having new men and women living with them. Parents teach their children that happiness comes only from a new lover- and are too busy with their dating life and careers to be a positive role model.

because the media portrays kids as always hooking up, and that's all they see on tv. since they have nothing to do, they decide that they are ready for a relationship, when in reality, they have no idea what they're looking for since they barely know themselves yet. they mostly want to get in trouble and make out and make babies.

i'm a teenager, and i know what it's like, and i believe that it's just our hormones, we're still developing, so when we first start to feel love, we want it alot, and i suppose that it's better to wait until someone is 18 or older (or basically in college) till he/she gets a boy/girlfriend.

I know right! I think what happens is that they get crushes VERY easily and since they're searching for themselvs and answers for their purpose in life they just assume that they have found their true love. Just a theory...
