I am going to chicago for vaction and I am wondering if anyone can recomend a Tattoo shop? I want Celtic Knot work and some wording done. I would have it done where I live but I have not found a shop that I would trust to do it.

I have looked up a couple of different shops but there really isn't to much you can tell about a person from their website. I was thinking Chicago Tattooing Company, but I really have no clue.

Icyfuel: is it any good, have you gotten a tattoo from there?

I live in Chicago and I have 2 tattoos. One is on my ankle and it's small. I got this letter on my ankle (ex boyfriend) and I remember I felt comfortable with this guy because he had lots of tattoos on his arms and a piercing in the nose.

He was nice because the tattoo was small and the standard charge I think was 60 but he only charged me 40 and it took only 15 minutes. For whatever reason the name escapes me of this place but it was on Belmont about 1/2 block east of Clark. If taking a train there which you might want to do because parking is tight then get off at Belmont.

The second one I got was at the Tattoo Factory on Wilson. Near Wilson and Broadway. If you take a train you get off at Wilson and you'll see it while on the platform. This was a Chinese character on my wrist. Again a very good job but they charged me $80. This took a little longer too. Also trustworthy because I picked the character out of a book and it was suppose to say "deep" and I work at a University in with lots of Chinese students and they verified that it was indeed "deep" and not ****** or something like that.

If you are visiting though maybe go to the one on Belmont because not only would you get your tattoo, you'd have an interesting evening people watching. That area is crazy.

i used to live in chicago and last time i was there on vacation, i went to jade dragon tattoo to get some work done. the employees were rude, and bored, and were venting to each other about working 12 hours straight. luckily, the one that i had was very awake and friendly, but everyone else there gave me a really bad vibe. the only reason i trusted them was because i had designed my own art and they were pretty much just testing.

don't let them win you over just because they give you a free mug and t-shirt and because kid rock went there. totally lame, and totally overpriced.

I got my first tattoo there and they made me feel so comfortable about it and it came out great! I've had it for a year and I still love it! They are very reasonably priced, too!
