my favorite is a cape cod (vodka & cranberry juice, twist of lime if you like). there are a ton of drinks that you can mix with vodka. i work as a part-time bartender but i came across this fun site... check it out. it has so many creative ways to drink. let me know if you have any questions! good luck n' party hard!
you should also try chilled vodka as a shot. it's super smooth. shake with a shaker. when you pour it, the vodka almost looks like its icy or white. take the shot and suck on a lemon with sugar on it.

RE:
What are some good, simple drinks you can make with vodka?
By simple drinks I mean drinks that don't require freezing or using a blender, just that you can mix on the spot (ex: secrewdriver - mix vodka and orange juice)

i love vodka, especially simple vodka drinks. here are a few of my faves:
1. Vodka & water with a slice of lemon (note: vodka should always be garnished with a lemon, NOT a lime)
Simple but so good. Keeps you hydrated and the best part - NO HANGOVER!
2. Vodka, Cranberry juice and 7Up. Tastes good.
3. Vodka and Clamato juice (if you live in Canada - I dont think the US has clamato)
4. Vodka and Coke - sounds gross but some really like it.
5. Vodka, Pineapple juice and Sprite - mmmm...i want one right now!
Hope that helps.

Everyone's tastes are different but I like Kettle One vodka with tonic water and two wedges of lime.
Skyy makes flavored vodkas that aren't sweetened and they mix really well with sodas and juices. Skyy orange with sprite is really good.
Vodka is so versatile because it is virtually tasteless, the higher quality the less rubbing alcohol aroma/flavor it has. My top two vodkas are Stolis and Kettle One my third is Skyy.
Good Luck!
