I just moved in about 2 months ago into a new apt. I don't have a cat or dog. Well, I think the place has fleas. I'm being eatin alive. At first I though I had a allegic reaction to some laundy soap, but then more little itchy red bumps showed up they itch so bad its distracting. I need a natural way to get rid of them and the itch. Any Ideas?

I also thought I had measles or chicken pox but I don't have any on my face. Just the neck down.

Where is it on your body? Fleas tend to stay around your lower legs and feet - they are species specific and humans are a bit cooler than the prey they usually like to feed on. Scabies usually form around your tummy/arms/back area. It could be chiggers - if thats the case again they are usually around your legs - you can use clear nail polish to "paint" over the bump - this will suffocate and kill them. If it's fleas you'll have to bomb your house. If it's scabies you'll need to see a doctor. Have you seen whats biting you?

The health food store usually has some good herbal shampoos and treatments for fleas that are non irritating. My favorite method is least irritating and might be enjoyable for your dog as it'll give him lots of your undivided attention: Pick the fleas off by hand and drown them in a bowl of water with a few drops of dish soap in it. Our dogs would line up for this treatment if they got fleas. There's tiny combs at the pet store to help with this..very cheap and can be quite useful.

I remember reading that you put a lamp on the floor at night and a pan of soapy water next to it.. The fleas jump at the lamps heat and drown in the soapy water.( all other lights in the apt are off) Even if you just try it for one night, you may get your answer to whether or not you truly have fleas in the apt.
Hope that helped.

well, get borax laundry booster, sprinkle it everywhere that can possibly be vacuumed, let it set overnight then vacuum and throw away the bag and wash everything that can be washed, blankets, clothes, ect.

It might be fleas, or it might be bed bugs.

For fleas:

Here's one for bed bugs

I haven't used either one so I can't vouch.
