Audio books are great to listen to. My mother gets motion sickness and cannot read in a car, so she gets the books on CD or cassette tape. You can rent them at the library before you leave and mail them back when you are done. Just make sure they will accept them by mail. If not maybe mail them to family to return for you. This was it doesnt cost anything to borrow them from the library. You may also want to knit or crochet (if you are crafty). Crossword books or suduko, something of that nature. I also like to do the crossword with someone else, because some of them are pretty hard to finish. This will be a long trip for you, so pack yourself snack and such so you don't have to stop a lot to eat/drink. I take road trips a lot with my girls, 11 & 14, we have driven from NY to Texas in 2 1/2 days. The DVD player kept them quiet along with a book or 2 and their own music. You might be able to pick up a portable dvd player cheap now that it is the holiday season. Oh, and don't forget a camera, you may see something worth phtographing on the way, or make a scrapbook of your trip. Take several pictures everyday and keep a log of what you do, where you drove those things. This would make a nice coffee table piece after you get settled.
Good luck to you and have a safe trip.

Cross Country: Everyone sucks when they first start sports. But if you keep trying, you can end up the best at what you do. Don't be discouraged in the beginning. Getting Lost: Teachers are understanding in the beginning of the year when you are late. Don't worry so much. Mean girls: find the nice ones and be friends with them. Trust me, the mean ones will regret not making more friendships while in school. Make meaningful friendships with people who are nice. School can be so fun, don't let other people ruin it for you, enjoy it to the fullest. If your not having fun, do what you have to in order to make it fun (by that I mean start a student organization or join an extracuricular activity, not anything bad). Good luck!

To me this is a funny question. It is only two days, just sit back and enjoy the scenery. I guess what I am saying is " stop and smell the roses". Just bring a couple healthy snacks and bottled water. Keep some ibuprofen or acetaminophen available too. Have a nice trip.

When driving, it's best to get a book on tape. I listened to the book "The Life of Pi". It is excellent. Rent it from the library and load it onto your iPod or just plain buy it from Borders. There's a 30% coupon today!!
