If I gave a cross to a Judeo-Christian, would it be ok? I would hate to give a gift that would offend the religious belief.

Believe in them?

We keep them as symbols of Christ's death and resurrection.

judeo-christian refers to the body of morals and ethics derived from the Bible, both old and new testaments.

no one is a judeo-christian nor is there any such religion.

The cross or crucifix is a symbol in christianity.

What's a 'Judeo-Christian'? There are Jews, and there are Christians. "Judeo-Christian" is the term used to lump the shared beliefs together (considering Christianity came out of Judaism). (i.e. "Judeo-Christian values", etc.)

Jews believe that Jesus was not their saviour. Christians do. The crucufix/cross is the symbol of Jesus' death - so Christians revere it, Jews won't.

The only value of the cross is what happened on it. The crucifix depicts the moment of our salvation. The empty cross is just a piece of wood, though a symbolic one certainly.

How can you not believe in crosses ? I see them all over the place. My wife even wears one as an ornament once in a while.
No, I don't believe in Gods or angels, they're only in the imagination, but crosses are real. If you don't believe that ,look up on the top of churches.
Strange you havn't noticed.

Christians prefer the empty cross, unlike the crucifix Jesus died once and for all, and is not now on the cross.

I wear a cross - it is empty to represent Jesus' victory over death. Others wear a crucifix to remind them of the penalty Jesus paid for us. Either way, it is a symbol to remind us to live for Jesus.

They are symbols of what we believe in, they are not the object of the belief.
