If sin is a transgression of the law then that must mean that in the time of the Flood story, Sodom & Gomorrah, & Egypt that people weren't capable of sin. After all there was NO LAW for them to transgress!
Yet dispite this lack of law to transgress the bible God still called people wicked, evil, & sinful! Doesn't make sense of sin is a transgression of the law yet people were sinful without law!

According to what I was taught, Jesus is now the law. So, sin is transgression against Jesus.

We should still obey the Law- but we are not saved by the Law. We are saved through the grace of God and the blood of Jesus- those who believe.
- The Law is definately still important- and it is a mirror to show people they have sinned against God- In sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, even Jesus used the Law to show people they have sinned against God.

To sin is to do something you know is not right. The laws of Moses or the 613 laws of the Jews do not apply to the gentile so said the lord, Jesus.

The law of God still is valid, but now in the new testament we will be judged based on our concious.
