I agree 100% It's typically athiests who are the people who will listen to someone ranting about biblical nonsense and be polite and try to see the pther person's point of view. (I do) but then in the end, science and common sense just rule out religion.
...also, there is a reson why evolution is taught in (some/most) public schools and not Adam and Eve

I kind of wonder if you have had your head in the sand for the last several decades. Not meaning to insult but what do you think about Communist China and the Soviet Union to mention a few of the Communist block. These are examples of atheists gone awry. Not so cool. And not so open minded. Unless of course you consider murdering 40-50 million of their own people forcing their brain washing agenda and not tolerating free worship. It's kind of hard to ignore this unless you really choose to have a pronounced bias. am I saying some religious people can't be jerks. Of course not. Just saying it's unrealistic to paint this atheistic Utopian view point in light of reality. Added: It takes little effort to be nice when everyone is agreeing with you.Lets see how nice people are when you question them or disagree.

I do not think it is all Christians though some still believe in the God of love and forgiveness.
If only the hell and damnation, gay hating, abortion bashing, Sunday trading opposing, illiberal and extreme zealots that screech and preach their intolerance would shut up and leave the good Christians and everyone else alone we would all be better off and peace might stand a chance!!!

Not all religions try to convert others, that are just the Christians and Muslims. And there are atheists who "preach" to others, just look at some of the questions and answers here.
