Because recycling reuses things like aluminum and plastics over again. If we didn't, landfills would fill up more and more every year with items that don't biodegrate over time. Metals would have to be mined more than they are now and more and more trees would have to be cut down to satisfy the need for paper. We can't burn plastic due to toxic fumes that are released. Does this answer the question?

AndyMan hit it on the Button. Having some care outta give one enough reason. But, to the point...... We shouldn't even use any of it. Don't need that recycle-able crap when we get foods from our gardens, or kill food in the wilds. hehe

we don't need to, it is a scam....when i lived in upstate new york and recycling was not even heard of, we could take our cans, glass, newspapers to a place that paid us for them....then when mandatory recycling took affect, we had to pay more on our garbage bill for recycling fees....what a joke..
