Mice can carry diseases that can make your cats sick but usually disease isn't what can make a cat sick after eating mice. The biggest danger to them is if the mice have eaten rat/mice poison before your cats eats them. The poisoned rodent can be deadly to your pet. I would suggest letting the cats catch/kill the mice but you dispose of the remains. I don't know of any shots to protect them from whatever disease the mice may carry but you can call your vet and ask.

It is cool that they do a good job. Be careful about calling a exterminator, they say that the poisons that they use do not kill domesticated animals, however, I have heard horror stories. Try setting traps where your cats cannot reach instead. The cats will eventually kill enough mice that other mice will move on.

Female cats are better for killing mice. Cats aren't really breeds any more unless they come with a certificate of authenticity. They are just domesticated, for example, short hair domestic, long hair domestic. Cats have lots of fur and also snuggle up when they are cold. But if you feel it is too cold for the cat outside then keep it in. You won't need to make a transition, chances are one will sneak outside and want to go back and whine about it. Then they become outdoor/indoor kitties. Just use your female/mothering instincts.

well cats have special inateanks some cats eat mice and some cats will catch them and not eat them. They will not be infected with anything unless you had rat Poisson. cause see if the mice ate the Poisson and if one of your cats would be infected...Then you better get the cat to the vet to get a shot and by the away why don't you move then you would'nt have to deal with it.......

yes, the mice could have all sorts of diseased that can pass to your cat. Just make sure your cats are up to date on their rabies shots, and other vaccines.
The one cat is leaving the mouse for you as a present...the other is obviously greedy and doesnt want to share.
Its always better to be safe than sorry. Just make sure they are up to date with vaccinations.

If the mice are carrying worms in their system, yes, they can get worms from the mice....and ditto for fleas--if the mice have fleas, the cats can get fleas...
We put out mousetraps--the ones that are covered, and that did the trick. If you put out poison, remember it will kill the cats, too.
Good luck--cant stand the winter "let us in your house" mouse migration!

Nah, it's fine. Don't worry about it unless you observe changes in the cat that can indicate illness. BUT -- Don't poison the mice! You'll poison kitty as well!
