I have 2 street sweeping parking tickets since September i havent paid off, totaling to $100. They said the deadline to pay them was on Dec 7th, and i still havent done so. If I decide to pay in January, will i be affected? If i happen to get pulled over, would i get arrested for unpaid tickets like those? ive heard of it happening.

You may have to pay a "penalty" for late payment.

You won't get arrested for "parking" tickets in general. However, it depends on your minicipality.

In general (not saying it's true in your particular case) if you got like 5 or more unpaid tickets your car will get "boot'ed". Then 24-48 hours after that it'll get towed.

If you simply won't pay less than 5 tickets for a while, the parking ticket agency may put a DMV hold on your license, so you can no longer renew your car's registration.

They will probably first start by sending you dunning letters, then threaten to issue a warrant, then issue a warrant and possibly arrest you. I got to phase 2 (threat of warrant) on a parking ticket I didn't even know I had! My dad got to phase 4 (arrested in handcuffs) because he hates the government! Don't let this happen to you -- pay the tickets now!

You won't get arrested. Fees will build up and your car will get booted. Then you'll have to pay like $600 to get the boot removed AND the fines and fees for the tickets.

That shows up on your credit report too.

Pay your tickets or you might come out from a store someday and find your car booted or towed.

I'd think you'd get better answers and more accurate answers if you call the city in question and ask them directly.
