The best software to make DVD menus is Adobe Encore DVD
it's very pro...but if you're looking for something pro but easier you have Adobe Premier Pro...and if you want easy but not professional software you have lots of program from Ulead, and Cyberlink..

Get DivX converter to convert your avi's to divx - then all the newer model DVD players (hooked to a TV) could read and play the files, as well as computer DVD drives. For sure, Nero to burn the divx files onto your blank DVDs

You will need to purchase something like Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 or Cyberlink PowerProducer/PowerDirector. There are a ton of others out there.

I've found that Nero Ultra is the best for me.....but to each their own....Some people like Roxio, but it's really your call.
