Im purchasing a microfiber suede sectional in a light beige color. The store wants to put on a fabric protector for $150. Well, I want to know if microfiber even needs this protection? I know the store has to push the product but I want to know if Im wasting my cash on the protector?? Please share your experience good or bad!!

I am most concerned because of the light color of the couch.

I just bought a microfiber set and I got the fabric protection. I am glad I did because my cat peed all over it and I got all of the cushions replaced. While the pee did not stain - it beaded up and rolled off - it still smelled. My advice is - if the fabric protection is just a spray with no added warrenty, you don't need it - but iff it is a spray with a no fault protection - meaning they will replace it if ripped, stained, etc - I would go with it. $150 is not a lot if you think about having to replace the furniture.

This can be a tough decision because it is an investment. I purchased a microfiber suede set approximately 1 year ago and was told by the sales person that it was very easy to spot clean with just cool water and a very very small amount of dish soap. I was not told of it needing a fabric protector and was also told by the sales person that microfiber is very durable and so far I have found this to be true. Maybe you could call the custoemr service line of the manufacturer of the sectional directly before making your decision and see what customer service says about care instructions. Good luck.

microfiber is one of the most stain resistant fabrics out today. I think that extra $150 dollars is a waste of money. I have had a microfiber couch for 3 years now and every spill has come up completely with just some soap and water.

I got the protection on my microfiber couch. I have a light beige couch. It was worth every penny. Every single stain has come out so far. All I've ever needed was a wet rag and dry cloth to get the stain out.
