Hahaha i find your question intriguing, first i wonder just how many people who have answered your question have ever lived in the same street as a pakistani family never mind next door..........
I lived in a street a while ago and was the only non pakistani in the street.!!,i lived there for 3 years during riots in Bradford,..they were helpful considerate and generous people, i never felt threatened in any way....They do tend to swarm into an area and colonise it rather quickly, which unfortunately tends to lower the property values, and they do tend to cook all day which does create a garlic and onion odour which never goes away.
I dont wish to live in that scenario again, they were really nice people but its not what i wish now.....

I lived next door to Pakistanis about 18 years ago and being perfectly honest I had no trouble with them, if they were celebrating they would always come to the door with various food dishes the women were o.k but the husband was horrible he used to come home drunk and beat up his wife and was forever chatting up women.
Now I have moved to the Borders of Scotland this question will never arise as I have not saw any Pakistani people even in the street.

I'm not too sure of the wording of your question.
Would I *like* to live next door to a Pakistani family? Well, I can't answer either yes or no to that. Would I be happy to have a Pakistani family move next door to me? Same answer. As long as they are nice, considerate neighbours I'm happy, whatever their culture.
Would I choose to move to an area where the dominant culture is one that is extremely different from my own, perhaps with strong fundementalist roots? No, purely because I would feel out of my depth and would feel uncomfortable at being in a minority (I have been harrassed before).
In my neighbourhood we've had Greeks, Mauritians, Italians and Germans, and I've not had a problem with it at all.
And to those immature people who said things about the smell - I lived with an Indian guy, 2 Germans and a Greek couple at uni amongst my other housemates (all British) and it was the Greeks that created the worst smells in the kitchen, the Indian chap loved fry ups!
Please don't judge on cultural appearances alone!

I've never supported the idea of multi-culturalism, only racial-pluralism, thus, many races living within one culture. Multiculturalism deters cultures to integrate and assimilate with the rest of the people and builds up barriers between communities in communities.
And no, i've had a pakistani neighbour for 5 yrs, his house smelled freggin awful and he was the rudest f*ker ever. I'm so glad he moved out last year. I can start breathing again without the smell of curry seeping into my bedroom windows.

Firstly, I'd just like to say im against the idea of multiculturalism. I hate the idea of my country and my culture being destroyed by a nasty mix of cultures, be they foreign, or new British cultures ie the chav culture. But I'd have no problem living next to to Pakistani's, as long as they were nice people, and they respected my own British culture.

I used to live next to a Pakistani family and they were really lovely people. Their children were always so polite. They were a pleasure to live next to.

Individuals don't act on each other in the way groups do.
if one faimly of them moves next door its not so bad, if they then buy up the whole street & turn all the houses into a pakistani community how would you like that?

I would not mind living next door to a Pakistani family here in the USA, because they behave differently here. I would not however want to live next door to them in England, because of their crappy mentality and their total lack of respect for their "new" homeland.
