As a convert to Islam (former Catholic), I can say it's almost the same in most things; I still work and go to the movies and stuff. The difference is you feel improved; you feel closer to God and you are with a great community. I feel less inclined to do bad deeds and I feel more patient when I remember God is watching me.
Yes, Muslims pray 5 times a day, but each prayer is pretty short, like the time it takes to have a tea, and it's routine; not something that hurts your schedule. I would take a short break and pray at work and then go right back, every time.
For the language, my first language is still english, same as many Muslims I know. We pray in Arabic, you just memorize a few of the sentences, and you can make requests to God in english. It was a little bit of a hurdle, but I found some fellow Muslims to teach me the Arabic alphabet.

We say our prayers in Arabic but if we didn't study that language. You can memorize verses and learn their translation, it's not that hard, especially when you do it as a child. We pray five times a day but it's not demanding at all. Plus it's a good body exercise. It's great being a Muslim, we care a lot about the time and we're always trying to spend it as best as we can. I always rely on the God and I know I'm not alone so I it's hard no to think positively.

For me personally as i cant speak for anyone else, I love being a Muslim its a very special feeling and is very rewarding. Yes i do pray 5 times a day.
Morning prayer (fajr) at this time of year in UK is 5.54 am
Early afternoon (zuhr) 11.50 am
late afternoon (asr) 1.38 pm
evening pray (maghrib) 3.54 pm
night pray (isha) 5.54 pm
These time change dramatically with the time of year.
Morning pray in summer time can be 3.30am
Evening pray in summer time can be 11.45pm
When we pray we pray in Arabic even though i dont speak it fluently ( I'm trying though).
It's not that hard to learn to pray in arabic.
We do 2 rukkas
4 rukkas
4 rukkas
3 rukkas
and 4 rukkas
Some people my husband being one do additional rukkas so he does almost double that. Once you start to do additional rukkas you must continue with that amount for the rest of your life.
Hope this answers your question CD :)

hi.. I'm a Muslim ..
muslims need to do 5 primary things:
1-beleive a7 say that there is no god but (allah) & that Mohammed (MGUH)is a profit & just a slave of him
2- to pray 5 times a day(it's soo eazy & releiving)
3- to pay al zakat to poor people ( once a year at EID AL-FETR after RAMADAN
4- to fast in RAMADAN
5- to perform AL-HAJJ once in your live if you have the ability.
(of course there are other things like smiling, purity, politeness, studying...etc.
a7 ofcourse Arabic langusge is important to understand the real Quran (not what people talk about)
I don't think you have to mention that you ment no harm..your quistion was just a normal quistion.
but why do you ask any way???

Pretty interesting webpage dedicated to the objective analysis of the Muslim religion and how it affects it's followers. Click Articles, there is very informative information about the religion.
Stay away from the photos, they depict some very sad and disturbing moments in history for Muslims around the world.
**Edited to add that this response was purely informational and I am confident there are good people out there from all religions. I also should add that all religion has men that strive to corrupt and use it for evil.
