About the dose I don't know, but I imagine that the question what America means to me.
Well, to me, America is a continent, discovered by Christopher Columbus ( whose nationality is still very controversial ) and described by an Italian named Americo, or Amerigo Vespuccio or Vespucii.
Columbus explored certain islands in the Caribean sea, and Americo described an area of Brasil.
America was colonized by Europeans who made the inhabitants learn their own language.
The northern area was colonized by France and England, whereas the rest was colonized by Spain and Portugal.
Therefore, in America several languages are spoken:
Spanish, French, Portuguese and English, besides of the native languages

The best country in the world to live and be a citizen, if you are in the top 70% of the income bracket. A place that has the correct morals for the most part but doesn't always follow through.

The United States of America is the country that I had the good fortune to be born in.
I am proud to be an American just as anyone would be of the country they were born in.
Although my pride goes deeper than that.
This country was founded on ideals and hardships and strong willed people like no other in the world.
I am the Grandson of Greek immigrants who came to this country for a better life after WW2.They worked to give their son a better life just like my father did for me.And they were proud and happy to be here.
To me America stands for the freedom to become what you wish and to excell to the best of your abilities. Most countries do not have this...their people are forced into poverty and oppressed.
I give thanks to our forefathers who fought for the freedoms that I have and greatly admire all those that have fought and died to defend it.
I respect our flag as a symbol of this freedom.
We may be a culturally diverse people that sometimes do not see eye to eye but as Americans we are united.
I am proud to be an American and proud to stand with all my American brothers and sisters and I am not ashamed or afraid to say so.
We may have our problems but so doesn't every other country in the world.
AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE!!!!

Large, beautiful country with abundant resources and creative media. In theory, an example to the world in democracy and individual freedoms but many of its people have voted leaders that promote unfair and belligerent foreign policies, hence giving this country a horrible reputation.

The blessed land where I was born. The perfect place for a modern woman to be born with the blessing of no persecution and where she can freely speak her mind. God Bless America.
