our sins? I have always considered myself a believer, but I also know that sin - or what most would consider sin - is always a prevelant factor in my life. I don't understand, why temptation is always running rampant through me and why I continue to sin. When sinning, I'm usually enjoying it (it's sexual and hurts no one else) and feel good about it until afterwards, then the guilt sits in. Why do I repeat it? What can I do? What if it really isn't sinful, but rather fabricated as so many people have suggested, as well?

It is human nature to seek out and enjoy instant gratification. Sin provides that in heaps. Controlling these desires and restaining ourselves is what makes us more god-like.

A lot of sin comes thru temptation. If it was something desirable/attractive then there wouldn't be any temptation.

And, once you've tasted something you like (good or bad), then you have the desire for more. And the temptation for more grows stronger. Hence the repetition of some sinful things.

When we are saved we are made a new creation spiritually . the old nature still wants to sin but we have power in the spirit to overcome this temptation. You need to pray and ask God to give you the strength to fight this sin. He will give a way out.

Because we are weak to the flesh- but our spirit is willing just as God says:

Mark 14:38
Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

We want to do what is right and abide by God always, but because we are human and still living in a sinful world we will fall short continually - as Romans 3:23 says, we all fall short of His glory- but the beautiful thing is God has given us His Holy Spirit to convict us and show us our sin so we can repent and seek His forgiveness....pray for spiritual discernment and continue praying for the Lord's strength to overcome temptations...God DOES help us. But no christian is perfect...

Romans 7:21-25
21So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

It's really a shame that your religion is so twisted it turns sex into what you're describing.

If it doesn't hurt anybody, it can't be a "sin".

How do you feel about, say, working on saturdays? The bible clearly forbids it.
