I went for about a 20 year period with out really traveling much and did not care to do so. I would go to Hawaii once a year but not really travel. Then I went to China and fell in love with traveling again. You see so many different people and things that you would never see. I love it now.

Staying in the same place drives us nuts. The need to see other places and other things. To let loose, have more excuses to relax from work and home. For some, the chance to drink or party or sample new foods and get out of a rut.

I love to travel and here's why!
1. To escape the hassels and reality of everyday life
2. To immerse myself in exciting new culture
3. To experience anything beyond the routine
4. To SEE beauty (man-made OR the Creation)beyond what I see everyday.

im obsessed with traveling. i think ive got some kind ov compulsive disorder, where i must have my next holiday already booked. when im on holiday, im thinking about where i can go on my next holiday. i think imay be slightly crazy, but i also enjoy shopping around for a bargain holiday deal. my friends call me judith (as in judith charmers) because i holiday so frequently. in the last 12 months i have been to - tunisia, lapland, new york, honduras, texus, roatan, venezuala, the maldives and cuba.
i have a globe in the living room with bits of blue tac stuck in the countries that i have visited - am i a crackpot? maybee i am. i dont know why i love to travel so much, but i know if i had to stay in england without a holiday for longer than 6 months i would go crazy, i get depressed because there is nothing to look forward to. i love to experience different cultures, see new places, and i must go on at leat 8 excursions per holiday to see the actual country. i love it. what i dont love is flying! being squashed up for hours on end, but to go to lovely countries you just have to put up with it. im due to go on holiday next wednesday to las vegas, and next summer ive booked to go to costa rica. i dont like to return to a place that ive already been to though i find its never quite as good the second time around.

You mean 'what' are the reasons...

Though your simple mind may not see it, theirs a whole world out there for us to see. For me personally, its an adventure to go out and see places on holiday, and there will always be dream places I've wanted to go to since I was a kid.

People go to explore, learn, have a good time, get fit, theres loads of reasons. But as I said, for me personally, its an adventure.

To see new people, places, & things.
To see first-hand the people, places, & things they have only read about or seen on TV or in movies.
To do things they can't do in their own area, like maybe surfing or skiing or camping.
