No, but I assume you're mostly directing this question at believers.
My guess is that believers see atheism as a sin, not a disorder.

I don't feel its a disorder. I feel its more of ones belief based on what she or he feels. Everyone is different, what you believe to be true or not is not what the next person does. I do feel its wrong for a atheist to celebrate a holiday that Jesus was born on. To me that is being hypocritical.

I believe that there should be a discussion about the human phenomenon of needing to believe in myth. Since earliest civilization, human have devised various myths to describe or explain the world around them and their own actions. Why is this? Is it a deficiency in the human brain?

Here's a theory. Do you think atheists are people who learned not to trust their caregivers early on and have become brutally realistic logical people? They learned no one cares, or that noone is going to take them into consideration so they turned their belief into a very focused "in the present" philosophy? If anyone considers themselves atheists can you let me know if I'm way off on this? My best friend happens to not particularly believe in the institutionalized God and experienced a pretty tough childhood where she pretty much learned to fend for herself.
So to answer the question, no. It's not hormonally or chemically induced. It's learned. It's a mind-set based on their experience and truth in their younger lives.

I read a few months ago that people who are religous are genetically predisposed. There was actually a difference in the genes of religous people and people who were atheists. I am not sure where I read this so I cannot give you a source. Sorry.

No. Ofcoarse not. People can believe whatever they want. We are all different, and thats good. Just because some people believe in some things doesnt mean all of us should.

no, I think that it is a result of a scientific society. I am not judging it to be good or bad either. Meta-physical questions can be logically left alone, or logically embraced, its an inconcievable world of stuff that really, to me, holds no reason to judge.

No because when I was an Athiest, I thought all Christians were mentally ill. Now that I have been on both sides, I realize that Athiest just need to be prayed for an have blinders on their eyes and are blinded by satan, and until they see the light, you can argue with them until pigs fly and still can't convince them of this Jesus that saves.

Disorder?
Atheism is really just rebellion against
authority that has run amuck.
