I recently became a 1st time auntie to an ADORABLE little boy, and I know I have about a year or two before he can talk, but I want to have a cute auntie nickname for him to use when he can talk. My name is Allison MIranda.

Often the quote nickname will develop on its on, such as the way he tries to pronounce your name when he's learning how to talk. You can't really push it but auntie or auntie allie seems natural.

Auntie Allie is cute but wait till he starts talking. He will probably make up his own name for you while trying to say"Auntie Allie" but it will be so cute you'll want him to use it always!

Chances are he will come up with one of his own. Sometimes they arent' able to pronouce a name very well and then they come up with their own version of your name. For instance I am an aunt to 2 girls and my name is Lisa. Well the 1st one couldn't say Lisa so she called me Eia and it just stuck. The 2nd one came along and she calls me Eia. They are 7 and 5 and both still call me Eia. In fact most people in my family now call me Eia. I hope I'm Eia forever though! It makes for some special...which being an aunt is.

Congrats!

Tia, MiMi, or Nanny are popular around here. Nanny is usually for the God mother of the child but is still used as reference to an Aunt.
