Why didn't people in the bible know that bats were not birds?

Leviticus 11
13 “These are the birds that are detestable to you. You must never eat them: the griffon vulture, the bearded vulture, the black vulture, 14 the kite, falcons of all kinds, 15 ravens of all kinds, 16 the eagle owl, the short-eared owl, the seagull, hawks of all kinds, 17 the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl, 18 the barn owl, the desert owl, the Egyptian vulture, 19 the stork, herons of all kinds, the hoopoe, and the BAT.

sure, because dying only be an phantasm created by the ego. human beings desire to think of while they die each little thing ends. rather your power is only transferred someplace else. the self isn't important that's only a spec, subsequently all faith carry forth the assumption of selflessness. Nature is all one power and we are area of that. each little thing stepped forward from the factor at huge bang and over the years nature has gotten further and further complicated. only initiating as plasma after which forming atoms etc. I dont see the universe as complete random, there is plenty order to it in my eyes. Like how atoms and planets do the cirlce orbit concern, I propose i'm no longer able to declare something for helpful. rain is falling right here on the 4th...what a bummer. That shouldn't cease us from getting smashed and gazing the sky rockets

The hebrew word in play here, pronounced 'oaf', which is commonly translated as 'bird' really refers to any non-insect with wings. Thus a bat fits that description. Feathers are not a requirement under this definition.

A type of angel that is described has having wings are called ofanim...from the same root word.

One of the big confusions that creationists have is their essentialist notion of "species". Species are just labels that humans use to keep track of all of the various critters and plants we find.

When a creationist spouts that nonsense about "missing links" and "intermediate forms", he is almost certainly suffering from the silly notion that species specify ultimate essences. It's as though they believe that all human beings are identical to each other, all dogs are identical to each other, all sugar maples are identical to each other, etc.

have you ever encountered a reference with the scientific classification that's dated years before the scriptures and the books of the Bible were written?

What do those scriptures have to do with your posted question? We are not to eat anything unleanded which is what those animals that those scriptures are referring to . They are all scavengers, and are considered to be uncleanded in the eyes of God.

God made man apart from all animals. He made man in His image, and create animals for us not only to eat, but for us to enjoy to have them in our lives.

Genesis 1:25-26 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
