My friend & her boyfriend both awoke at the same time last night. Her boyfriend said he was awakened after supposedly hearing his father call his name. When he looked up he saw his father hanging in the corner of the room. My friend, who woke for an unknown reason but at the same time, also saw the same vision of the father hanging in the corner. They shared with eachother what they had just seen but were unable to understand why they had seen it. The father is still very much alive and well. If you have any idea or reason as to why this occured, please share. Thank you.

Since the experience was shared, and simultaneous, one has to rule out things like random coincidence, and other simple explanations.
From a Buddhist perspective, dreams are usually nothing more than dreams, but occasionally, they are visions from Gods (angels to non-Buddhists), ghosts, and so forth.
First, it is important that your friends realize that this is not likely a premonition, and should not be frightened that their father is going to die by hanging. It may be a warning about his character, his beliefs, or some sort of secret which would ultimately damn him.
If that does not seem likely, it may simply be a ghost playing games with them, and they shouldn't give it a second thought. If these sort of things persist, one should attempt to pacify the ghost by making offerings for his or her happiness. Incense, candles, food, and water would be appropriate for this purpose.

That is a strange one. I really do think there are doppelgangers. Usually those are ones that just come right before the real person comes, as if the real person is thinking so strongly about being where they are going that they sort of fore-arrive their physical being, if that makes sense. Like this - I have often heard my front door open and footsteps in the house. Within a few minutes one of my family members will come in. It's just a supernatural event and nothing to worry about. Could the father have been overly concerned about them? Is he disapproving of their relationship? Hard to say really.

According to Gypsy lore - when the living appear to you it is because they are afraid for you. Perhaps they have been under some stress and the father is concerned - his worry caused him to astral project to check on them and see if they were safe. The Girlfriend witnessing this must be considered very close to the family or she would not have had the connection to see him.

I have usually found that when something like that happens it is a sign to pray for that person.

someone may be enjoying with them, or they may see the same hallucination at the same time, or ( i think the most probable ) they may try to make fun of you :)

future premonitions. the father might die that way in the future and gave a warning. either murder or suicide.

Sometimes when people take a hit off the same crack pipe, they see the same hallucinations.
