28 November at my local blood bank. Would recommend it anyone. It doesn't hurt and you get a free biscuit afterwards. You might just help to save someone's life.

I tried once about 6 years ago. Took the bus to the donation centre with my two little kids, faced disbelief during the history taking session and later they decided (having drained a pint of blood out of me) that my blood wasn't suitable because I had had malaria while I had lived in Africa. Why don't they just put that on their leaflet and save people like me the bother?!

30th November 2006! I ended with a huge bruise but it was worth it! You can save up to 6 lives with 1 pint of blood, when someone close has had to have a blood transfusion, it makes you think twice about becoming a donor, could you live with yourself if a relative died through there being no blood to give them!!!

Tuesday 12.12.2007 at the Marryat Hall in Dundee. Had yet another re-bleed with blood running down my arm as I left the hall. They got a bit of a shock but my daughter, who was with me, and I are used to it. What causes a re-bleed?

Ahh, now that's something i wish i could do. Unfortunately, i can't stand the sight of my own blood so am unable to give blood.

My uncle was ill for a long time and received many transfusions which kept him alive for a lot longer than he otherwise would have.

I take my hat off to anybody who does gives blood, you have my utmost respect and thanks.
