It has been professionally cleaned. She goes to the bedroom of an owner (who is now deceased). She goes to one corner of her room - even when not urinating - when she enters the room. I want to open up the room, but am unable to do so.

First of all, do NOT use any more regular household cleaners. Anything with ammonia in it smells, to a cat, like urine and indicates that it's an acceptable place to pee.

Clean the area of the carpet with a "Pet Oder Neutralizer" from the store. These products are specially formulated to neutralize pet odors such as urine -- to a CAT'S nose, not to a human nose!

That resolves the initial question. However, you'll still have another issue to deal with. It sounds like this cat has formed a habit of going there, not just because of smell but because it has been accustommed to going there. You'll need to break the cat of this habit or it is likely to continue. I would suggest temporarily gating off the area with child gates. A cat can surmount these, but it puts a break in the regular routine. If that doesn't work, then after removing the odor try keeping the room closed for a few weeks or a month. Kitty may forget her belief that the space is a "potty" by then.

You can also take a large piece of plastic or cardboard and cover it with doublesided tape, then put it in the corner where kitty likes to go. Cats *hate* to step on these sticky things and will quickly learn to avoid the spot. If you don't want to make it yourself, you can buy a similar product at the pet store.

Mix a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. Spray the area liberally to dampen the carpet and soak in deep enough. Extract as much as possible with a couple of old towels or some paper towels. After it dries, place a liberal amount of baking soda over the carpet and allow to sit overnight. Vacuum up the baking soda and the smell should dissipate.

Nature's Miracle is supposed to get rid of the smell for good. May take several applications for the enzymes to eat away at the crystals.

you can't all the products in the world will mask the smell to us but a cat can smell things we can't and will return to the same place no matter what you put on it. The only way is to remove the area of carpet, and the floor under it(if it's wood).

try pouring ammonia on it and letting it dry...once it dries the smell should be completely gone...just make sure it doesn't do anything to the carpet first.
