It might turn out to be even earlier. But there is no doubt that it will prevail over all other religions.
Christianity formerly offered some competition. But the religion suffered too much human intervention - thus becoming a religion of convenience rather than a guide to life.
As turmoil and problems increase around the world, many are turning back to their religions- mainly Christians. They then find that it brings them no spiritual satisfaction since it has been adultereted with human feelings and whims. They then seek solace in another religion.
Muslims earlier became lazy and found Islam difficult to follow. They tried to turn their backs on it but found that they missed something that had been instilled in them. They also had to fall back on their Religion and Book to find the solutions to numerous problems in all spheres of life i.e Alcoholism, High rate of Divorce, Racism, Disparity between the rich and the poor, Prostitution, Gender inequality, Immorality, Economic suppression throug interest and hoarding, Greed, Lack of Identity, Sodomy, HIV AIDS, Crime and a whole lot of other messes.
As more people realise that Islam is a God ordained religion that has not been altered for personal interest, they convert to these beliefs.
That is why I believe Islam will prevail over all other religions.

According to the C.I.A.'s Book of Facts, Islam will be the dominant world religion by 2016. With a growth rate of 235% over only a 50 year period vs. Christianity at 47%, it's easy to see that as Allah promised, Islam WILL supercede all religions. Islam is already 1.5 billion strong, just shy of Christianity and Jews almost don't exist anymore (at least practicing Jews) as 85% are only Jewish by blood and don't practice (about 10% in Israel are religious Jews) Islam was formed 600 years after the birth of Christianity and in less than 3 times that difference, will overtake Christianity.
Qur'an
[9.33] He it is Who sent His Apostle with guidance and the religion of truth, that He might cause it to prevail over all religions, though the polytheists may be averse.
[48.28] He it is Who sent His Apostle with the guidance and the true religion that He may make it prevail over all the religions; and Allah is enough for a witness.

I sincerely hope not. This extremist Islamic terrorism gives me the heeby jeebies. How long before they come into our countries and try to force us to follow sharia law?
Ugh!!! Scares me!!!
Anyway, that being said. 75% of new converts leave Islam within 5 years.
Many Muslims are becoming Christians or Theists or Atheists because they are learning to read the Koran for themselves and they are seeing that is not the beautiful, peaceful religion they are promised.
I read a site where my muslim friend has started to wear the hijab and is in Argentina (now it's summer there). She was talking about what a burden it was to wear this thing and how people were concerned and kept asking her if she was hot. I know she's a reasonable person and I ask myself, how long before she realizes you don't obtain holiness from the outward practices? How long before she realizes the Koran is full of hatred of Christians and Muslims? How long before she will face the heart-breaking reality that Islam is a sham.
My heart breaks for her. She is sincerely seeking God. And when she does find him, what kind of difficult choices will she be faced with?
God bless her.

It is the fastest growing religion in the world. It is very VERY likely that it will be the dominant religion in the near future.
One of the main reasons why it is not the predominant religion already is because most of islam used to be practiced in hiding in the past. Recently, in the last couple hundered years, it has been out in the open and growing. There are already a known 1.4 billion muslims in the world. Thats about 1/6 of the popoulation. And the number keeps growing everyday. People seem to be converting due to the fact that islam gives you less room to doubt, and more answers, real factual answers, than any other religion, hence making it more appealing.

No. There are many reasons. They among themselves are not united. check how the Sunni and the Shi'a are killing each others and both are Muslims. Check how the radicals are more and more are losing ground with the moderate Muslims. Also, as many times they like others to believe that Islam the fastest growing religion, in reality it is not. Muslims like to tell others how they are growing in numbers, and how Muslims are not converting from Islam to other religion, and we know that is false. To many people are questioning the existence of God, and Islam is based on God/Allah. You can bet on it, it will not happen.

You might have a point there. As societies go down hill, and their lifestyle is in the pits, they must choose a religion that doen't believe in sin. That way they can live how they want without the need for salvation. There is no need for Christ because in Islam there is no Christ.

That's a strong possibility.
As evil men wax worse and worse, the economic gap between rich and poor will widen. Truly, the rich will get richer, and the poor poorer.
Islam appeals to people living under what they perceive to be oppression. Many Third World nations live in deep poverty. But also, many poor in western culture also feel they are oppressed within their own cultures. Islam will continue to grow.

define practice, please. If I count a baptismal and confirmation certificate I'm a practicing Christian. I suspect many Muslims are as much Muslim as that (when non-compliance with a specific brand of religion carries the threat of violence, a pragmatic observance is inevitable - I don't think that counts as practice).
But again, what IS practice? And does the label on the book you call scripture really matter?
