i have looked everywhere, parks, other neighborhoods i eve suspect my own family members of "dissapearing" him. i been crying for a whole week most people suggest that he might have found a girlfriend and will return because cats "do that" i personally doubt it because he was an indoor/outdoor cat free to come and go but ost definetly never spent the night outside he would scratch my window to be let in... he's 8 months old. Is it possible for a cat to mate for weeks then come back?

There's a couple of possibilties and some of them may be realistic even if they're unpleasant. First I would think that someone took him in. Put flyers out all over the neighborhood and local stores. If someone took him in they will call (I'd hope). At the worst case scenerio is that he may have had a run-in with a car or other type of vehicle. Contact local shelters and vet offices, people who find cats, whether injured or not will often call shelters and vet offices to let them know of their find, or relinquish a cat. If the cat was injured they may bring the cat to the vet as well. I hope you find your kitty.

I have three cats. They too are indoor cats and are 7-8 years old. I recently put my 14 year old cat to sleep too. I would check your garage if you have one to be sure that he did not get locked in a shed or garage by accident. The same with your neighbors. One of my cats at one time was an outdoor/indoor cat and she was gone one day. That next evening my house was quiet and I could here her crying. Turned out she somehow she got into my outdoor shed (attached to the house) near the hot water heater and the door had been closed on her. If it is cold where you live, he may have gone under your home or a neighborhood person may thought he was a stray and took hi home. Try to put up some flyers in your area with his pic. I truly hope he returns home soon. One last suggestion, check with your local pounds and vets to be sure he was not brought in to one of those facilities.

My male cat does the same thing; he is mostly an indoor cat, but I let him go outside. Every so often, he will disappear for days at a time. It is certainly nerve wracking (I live close to a very busy 4 lane road) but I guess he just needs the time away. What makes it even stranger is, he is neutered, so I know he is not out "catting" around. I guess its just part of the independent streak all cats have. Just to be on the safe side, have you checked with your local animal shelter? Good luck to you, and I hope he returns soonest.

He could come back, he could have been picked up by someone....i have seen cats mate at that young of an age...i would put an add in the paper and pass out flyers....I just lost my cat in Sept and he never came back...Its hard to lose a cat you love so much!

Honestly, there's no telling where he is. If he isn't neutered, he could have followed a female somewhere and gotten lost. There are dozens upon dozens of dangers to indoor/outdoor cats, and unless you find him at the local shelter or someone locates his body, you may never know what happened to him.

Well, unneutered male cats do roam. He will probably come back (especially if it's cold) in a week or two. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, but he really needs to be neutered. It's a very simple surgery (it's hardly surgery!) and does not cost too much. It will make him healthier and he shouldn't roam for any reason. So, I really hope he comes back (cats normally come back to the food and warmth after a week or two) and please keep him inside until he can be neutered.

Yes, it's very possible. If he is a male cat that hasn't been fixed, he will leave to mate & come back later. Could be a few days or even several weeks. Don't give up.

My cat (fixed) was lost for a month - he was stuck under a neighbor's decking. We thought we'd lost him forever when someone heard him crying and got our number from the flyers we'd posted around the neighborhood.

Don't lose hope, call the local animal shelters and post flyers! Good luck! When he gets back, GET HIM FIXED!

that's the importance of having your pet spayed and neutered. Also I don't think pet should be allowed to roam freely about. There are way too many dangers outside.
I hope you find your cat soon. Have you checked the shelters and put up fliers?
