It started yesterday with severe muscle aches in my shoulder, lower back, and legs,, kept going back and forth between being really hot and really cold and also had exhaustion. Today these symptoms remain but not as bad although now my throat hurts, my eyes are watery, and I am congested. I don't know what is wrong with me because it doesn't really seem like the average cold and I am stuck at work and can't leave. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated because I need to at least be a little better merits by tomorrow even if I can't be completely well. Thanks:)

I don't get paid sick time, and I left work early yesterday to which my boss b*tched about. I was out last week because my 3 yr old daughter was sick and unfortunately there is no one to cover my shift where I work. There isn't anything for me to do right now but my boss is just a douche when it comes to my leaving.

Tell the company to find someone to fill in for you. You're sick!
If this is not at all feasible, drink lots of water, grab up a cushion, and go to sleep on the floor. You need rest and electrolytes. Or call a doctor in front of management and say, loudly, "No, no, doc! I can't miss work. Yes, I know its highly contagious! It's the avaian flu! I didn't expect it would be stagnant. Sorry, doc, just can't do that. Got to work."
I commend you! I'm such a baby when I have the flu!

"Oscillo" compound by Borion is a great early symptom remedy that may keep the flu germ from advancing. They are small vials of granulated crystals that you take thru out the day. This is an over the counter remedy that I have found to be VERY successful for cold and flu season. Most drug stores carry this now.....

It would be great if you can leave, but if you can't you can mask the symptoms for a while with otc cold/flu formulas. I also find that taking vitamin c and oregano oil capsules and eating a few grapefruits a day helps as well.

Yikes, if is the flu you'll be spreading it amongst your co workers. It would hit them in time for New Years. Try drinking warm fluids tea better than coffee, and if you have any Tylenol take some. Rest and lots of fluids are the best.

See if someone can maybe grab you some cold/flu medicine on their way out to lunch to tide you over until you leave work. I applaud you for trying to tough it out ... maybe some of your co-workers will notice how ill you're feeling and encourage you to go home and rest. Try and drink lots of water.

Hope you feel better soon!
