Check the heater hose inlet to the heater core. Is is hot? If so, the heater bypass is working. If not, it is the bypass valve. If it is working and there is still no heat, it is MOST LIKELY a selector/blend-door concern. I don't work on many caddy's. I'm a Ford man, but depending on the system. Either vacuum or cable controlled, possibly even an early electronic blend-door actuator is not working properly. When you switch from ambient air to heated air, do you hear any doors closing in the dash? It will sound like a thump when it closes. If not, then it is MOST LIKELY a blend-door concern. Hope this helps. Joe Cuccia, ASE Master Technician.

i own a repair shop ,and its very possible that the heater control valve,,isn't working right on it to let the hot coolant through so it can have heat, you ca check this by feeling both of the heater hose and see if there hot enough,if only one is warm this means the valve is stuck and will needs to be replaced,of both are hot then the control unit on the inside of the car is bad ,or called the heat selector, that's really all that it could be,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

The vent selector cables could be broken. In other words, when you shift the selector to HEAT, the vent guides do not shift to guide the hot air through the vents.
This happened on one of my cars before.

I imagine the blower motor is working and that the car engine is hot when you're testing the heater.
