It all depends on who it is some have more power then others. But they can vote on bills they can put their own bills up for vote and they can lean on people to get something they want. They can say things to the press and people will listen to what the have to say. They can help the little guy in their State if they have a problem.

I think Rocky pretty much got it right. Each senator doesn't have too much power as an individual, but when they persuade others to support them, they have a lot. They make laws, decide how the government's money is spent, and even can put limits on what the president can do.
